“Another Day Of Life” is a cinematic masterpiece that swiftly combines spectacular 3D animation and documentary with live-action footage and sound. It perfectly reflects the signature style of Kapuściński's world renowned reportage, enabling the viewer to relive the journalist's experience of being on the frontline of history.
The film is based on Ryszard Kapuściński’s book under the same title, believed by many to be his best publication. Kapuściński himself described it as "a very personal book, about being alone and lost". It is a fascinating account of the journalist's three-month-long trip across Angola during the 1975 revolution. It consits of 60 minutes of stunningly animated feature and around 20 minutes of interviews with surviving characters and newsreel footage bringing history to life.
Just like the readers of the literary original, the audience will begin their journey with Kapuściński in Luanda, the capital of Angola. The country is in the midst of decolonization. He is the only foreign journalist and the only Eastern European in Luanda in the summer of 1975 when civil war breaks out on the eve of country’s independence. Cuba, South Africa, the USA and Russia support different sides. Chaos and confusion ensue. Portuguese nationals are hurriedly fleeing the more glamorous districts of the city. Terrified by the possibility of a full-on attack on the capital, they’re busy packing their belongings. Shops are closing down, law enforcement is gradually disappearing from the streets, and garbage is slowly taking over the Angolan capital. Risking his life at the front line of the conflict, Kapuściński keeps sending daily cables to the Polish Press Agency to be the first in the world to cover this breaking war.
After it premiered out-of-competition at Cannes, "Another Day Of Life" has won, among others, Best Animation Award at the European Film Festival, Audience Award at Biografilm Festival and was successfully screened at many festivals worldwide.

RYSZARD KAPUŚCIŃSKI
Poland's most renowned foreign correspondent was an eyewitness to revolutions and civil wars in Africa, Asia and Latin America. As the Polish Press Agency’s sole foreign correspondent for Third World countries, he covered 27 revolutions and coups. His first hand experiences from the front lines and observations on everyday life in war torn developing countries made him one of the foremost writers on crises in the modern world. His books were translated into 30 languages. He won literary prizes in Germany, France, Canada, Italy, the US, and was titled journalist of the century in Poland. His texts have been published in "The New York Times", "Time" magazine and "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung", among many others. He was considered a candidate for the Nobel Prize for Literature.
DAMIAN NENOW
Polish animator, a graduate of the National Film School in Łódź, Poland. He entered the international animation scene with short films "The Aim" (2005) and "The Great Escape" (2006). He is best known for his short "Paths of Hate" (2010), which screened at over 90 film festivals and won 25 awards and honors, and "City of Ruins" (2010). Nenow's works show exceptional talent for capturing the sense of movement and his passion for creating grounded, often history-based stories, offering a unique look that enables rediscovery of subjects in a completely new way.
RAÚL DE LA FUENTE
Spanish documentarian whose films include the Oscar-nominated short "Minerita" (2013) and the feature "Nömadak TX" (2006). Together with Damian Nenow he codirected "Another Day of Life" - the hybrid of animation and documentary, which premiered at Festival De Cannes, where it aroused the applause of film critics and the viewers.
