ABOUT 2019 FESTIVAL
Polish Film Festival Sydney brings together Polish and Australian communities to present a diverse array of contemporary Polish cinema, from award winning works to box office hits by renowned and up and coming filmmakers.
The 2019 Festival will take place from 26 October to 9 November exclusively at Palace Norton Street in Leichhardt.
The program selection consists of selected films released theatrically within the last two years.
The Festival will open with the latest action spy thriller THE MESSENGER, inspired by the incredible story of a real-life superhero – the legendary Courier from Warsaw. Highlights of the program also include animated masterpiece ANOTHER DAY OF LIFE, presented at the Cannes Film Festival in 2018 and based on a book by one of the greatest journalists of the 20th century, Ryszard Kapuściński, as well as the Australian Premiere of PIŁSUDSKI, the newly released biopic about Polish political leader Józef Piłsudski, considered by many to be the founding father of Second Polish Republic. The Festival will close with THE BUTLER, an epic tale spanning 45 years and inspired by true events surrounding one Prussian family and three nations inhabiting the former Polish-German borderland – Kashubs, Poles and Germans.
All films will screen in NSW for the first time and only once so book your tickets early!
