It’s1969, Walpurgis Night at an opera house in Switzerland. After the performance of Turandot, the last unfinished work by Giacomo Puccini, the great opera star Nora Sedler (Małgorzata Zajączkowska) leaves the stage and heads back to her dressing room. Waiting for her at the door is a young French journalist, Robert (Philippe Tłokiński). Although he claims that he is there only to interview her, Nora does not entirely believe him. The two enter an unusual, erotic verbal game. During a night filled with humorous, intense and grotesque events, the woman's complicated story is slowly revealed.

The black-and-white feature debut by actor director Marcin Bortkiewicz surprises on a number of levels. It is an inteligent and mature film, beautifluly shot with outstanding performances by Małgorzata Zajączkowska and Philippe Tłokiński.

Bortkiewicz has written a screen-blowing aria for Zajączkowska, one which enables the actress to reveal her talent to the fullest. The performance of Zajączkowska is accompanied by music of Richard Wagner, quotations from Thomas Mann, and camera work by Andrzej Wojciechowski, who has managed to give this low-budget production a bit of an old-fashioned glow. The screenplay is based on the acclaimed New York debut monodrama by a Polish teacher, Magdalena Gauer.
