Halina, a modest cashier in a budget supermarket, lives in a small town dreaming of a better life for herself and her gifted 13 year old daughter, Misia. She soon gets her chance. Her boss, who shows an increasing interest in her, gives her an opportunity to work in a managerial position. Halina is yet to learn that the promotion comes at a price. The price for a higher salary and a better standard of living is dishonesty, manipulation and deceit.

The plot is loosely based on the true story of Bożena Łopacka, a former manager at Biedronka (Ladybug), a Portugese-owned supermarket chain in Poland, who took Biedronka to court for two-and-a-half thousand hours of unpaid overtime.

An emotional and heart-warming drama about exploitation, corporate greed and the inner struggle to find courage and strength to make a stand against it.
