WELCOME TO THE 2023 FESTIVAL
POLISH FILM FESTIVAL SYDNEY returns this May and June to Palace Norton Street in Leichardt and The Ritz Cinemas in Randwick. Get ready for smart comedies, gripping dramas, awe-inspiring biographies, and a little bit of romance.
The festival kicks off on Sunday 7 May with a warm comedy drama BLACK SHEEP about bonds that are impossible to break, told through the eyes of a young talented YouTuber.
Among the highlights of the 2023 program is the winner of eight international film festivals, SONATA which tells the beautiful true story of a unique musician misdiagnosed as an autistic child and his incredible journey to achieve the impossible and POLANSKI. HOROWITZ. HOMETOWN, the winner of the Audience Choice Award at the recent Polish Film Festival in Perth.
The festival will close with the Australian Premiere of the 2023 box office success DANGEROUS MEN. This Audience Choice Award winner at the 38th Warsaw International Film Festival set in the bohemian town of Zakopane in the stunning Tatra Mountains, it is a fast-paced comedy crime story merging humour, flamboyant historical figures and vibrant Polish folklore. Featuring an outstanding cast including Tomasz Kot (Cold War, Leave no traces – PFF22), Marcin Dorocinski (Mission Impossible 7, Beloved Neighbours – PFF22), Andrzej Seweryn (Man of Iron, Schindler's List, The Last Family – PFF17) as well as Australian based actor Jacek Koman (Moulin Rouge, Icarus. The Legend of Mietek Kosz – PFF20) impersonating colourful well-known characters this feature debut by Maciej Kawalski is a delightful piece of cinema to be enjoyed by all.
